Dear friends,
Some of you have been with me for almost three years on my journey to become a published author. I could not be more thrilled to finally, finally share the news that my book has found a home. I have signed a contract with the wonderful folks at Marian Press!
For anyone who is newer to my story, or needs a refresher, it all started in early 2020 when I felt a call from God to meet some married Saints. I eventually started doing research with the intention of writing and one day publishing a book. The research and first-draft stage probably would’ve take much longer, but God stepped in. The lovely pandemic of 2020 gave me tons more time stuck at home, with my husband there more often to help with our kids, too. By the beginning of 2021, I was ready to contact publishers.
While the writing stage was shorter than imagined, the process of finding a home for my book actually took much longer than I anticipated. Looking back, though, I see God’s hand in it all. In the past (almost) two years, I have learned so much patience and humility, waiting months and months just to get another “no.” I have met countless amazing people: editors at different publishing houses, people serving in various marriage ministries, those who lead the canonization causes for the saints I have written about, fellow Catholic authors and bloggers who are so supportive of one another, and just other modern married couples trying to get to heaven along this crazy and wonderful vocational path.
A few weeks ago, I signed a contract with Marian Press to publish my book, ‘Holier Matrimony: Rediscover the Church’s Gifts to Married People.’ It should be available in late 2023 or early 2024. I am currently working on two new chapters for the book, figuring out photos or artwork to accompany each biography, and contacting all the people who have inspired and supported me along the way to share my exciting news. It has been a long road, but I feel so blessed to have walked it. And, who knows- maybe this is just the beginning of the story called ‘Caitrin Bennett: Author.’ We will see what God has in store!
I will keep you updated here on the progress of my work. Thanks for being part of my story!
In Christ,
Caitrin
